Hi and thank you for stopping by. I'm Vicky and I think it's fair to say that I have a slight obsession with space - that's why I paint it!

From my small corner of the UK I want to share the beauty of the cosmos with anyone who will listen, and I firmly believe that paintings help to spread the peace and joy that the universe brings me. I've always found that looking at the stars puts things in perspective and provides me with an amazing sense of calmness.

I only discovered a talent for painting recently in life through my work as a teaching assistant. During an art class in 2019 I joined in with the students and found out that I could draw. The following year this progressed into the use of paints; I'd always loved space and it seemed a logical step to try and paint what I loved. To begin with I used acrylics, but this didn't give me the desired effects I was looking for. In 2021 I came across an oil painting tutorial by the highly acclaimed space artist Cathrin Machin (if you don’t follow her you should). Since purchasing my first set of oil paints I've not looked back. Whilst oil paints are now my preferred medium, there are still occasions where I will use acrylics and I've also experimented with watercolours.

I still work in education as a cover supervisor and use any spare lesson time to share facts, information or simply beautiful images of space with my students. They don't learn about space as part of their curriculum and I find that to be such a shame. We exist because of the universe and we all made of stardust. I believe that this should be celebrated, and my passion for this has earned me the nickname "space lady" amongst the students.

I'm still fairly new to this journey, but I'm seeing where it takes me; trusting the universe to guide my path. I hope that you can join me along the way.
